WASHINGTON, D.C. – Transwestern today announced it completed two office leases for the District of Columbia Courts in Gallery Place at 616 H Street N.W. in Washington, D.C. Transwestern’s Carden McGehee, senior vice president, and the Government Services Team of Peter Marcin, executive vice president, and Matt Lynch, managing director, represented the building owner in the transactions: a 56,265-square-foot renewal and 5,894-square-foot expansion, both for seven-year terms.

“We are pleased to have represented Gallery Place Partners LLC in securing this important lease renewal and expansion for D.C. Courts that enhances the value of this iconic property,” said McGehee.

The D.C. Courts are comprised of the D.C. Court of Appeals, the Superior Court of D.C. and the Court System, which provides administrative support to both courts. The two courts have approximately 120 judges, 24 magistrate judges and a professional staff of 1,500.

Gallery Place is the ultimate urban retail destination in Washington, D.C.’s East End neighborhood. The prominent, mixed-use complex combines business, shopping, dining and entertainment. The property is located at the Gallery Place Metro stop and is within walking distance of the Washington Convention Center.
