Transwestern today announced it has appointed Rob Bagguley as chief innovation officer, a position created to drive the innovative initiatives that will enable the firm to better serve its global client base.

Additionally, Bagguley will lead Transwestern’s Middle East and North Africa strategy to provide consulting and advisory services in that region. He is responsible for developing new initiatives and technologies to serve business opportunities the firm identifies. He will be creating new industry structures and business models enabling Transwestern to enhance its current capabilities and expand its client base. Bagguley most recently led a decade of significant growth as Transwestern’s Midwest Region president.

“Rob has the vision and depth of experience to drive innovation for the benefit of owners, investors and users of commercial real estate,” said Larry P. Heard, Transwestern’s president and chief executive officer. “We are committed to constantly enhancing our service delivery capabilities, and innovation is an integral part of this equation.  In his new position, Bagguley will be leading the effort to anticipate market trends and then to identify and develop innovative approaches and technologies that will enable Transwestern’s teams to serve the firm’s clients at an even higher level.”

Bagguley has 35 years of industry experience in international, institutional, corporate real estate management and transactional services. During his tenure as Midwest regional president from 2001-2011, Transwestern made the Crain’s Chicago Business “Best Places to Work” list four years in a row, including #3 in 2008 and #1 in 2009. The Midwest Region also expanded significantly during this time, most notably by launching offices in the Minneapolis- St. Paul and St. Louis markets. According to Heard, another one of Bagguley’s valuable contributions has been attracting high-quality team members who continue to be crucial to Transwestern’s expansion plans in the Midwest and beyond.

Before joining Transwestern, Bagguley was senior managing director with Cushman & Wakefield and founder and president of Rubicon Property Services, a San Francisco-based property management and real estate consulting organization.  He is a member of the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate, BOMA Chicago, Economic Club of Chicago and Real Estate Round Table. He received a Bachelor of Science from Reading University in England and is a graduate of the Center for Creative Learning’s Strategic Leadership Program.
